Pythagoras’ Theorem

Pythagoras’ theorem helps you find the missing side of a right-angled triangle.

a2+b2=c2

It says:

a2+b2=c2

  • a and b are the two shorter sides.
  • c is the hypotenuse — the longest side, opposite the right angle.

Easy way to remember

Square the two shorter sides → add them → square root the answer.

⚠️ You can only use Pythagoras when the triangle has a 90° right angle.
